Real Facts. Real People. Testimonial III

Many stories about abortions I see or hear are connected to health or economic issues. Mine is not that.

Shortly after graduating from high school, I found out I was pregnant. For me, it wasn’t a question of what to do. My boyfriend and I were both getting ready to start college and finally move out of our small rural town. We both needed these opportunities for our growth, and we weren’t ready to be parents. We knew what a child would mean. And we knew what was best for us.

I took care of scheduling appointments and he borrowed the money from neighbors so that we didn’t have to wait until we could get the money together. My doctor and nurse were wonderful, I feel blessed there were no protesters, and my boyfriend stayed with me and took care of me all day.

It’s what I needed to do, I’m glad it went so smoothly, and in the many years since I have never regretted my choice.”
